New Commercial & Multifamily Permits – January & February, 2026
For the first two months of 2026, the FM metro recorded 11 new commercial and multifamily building permits, representing approximately $37 million in new commercial real estate investment across Fargo, Moorhead, and West Fargo.
This compares to 8 new commercial and multifamily permits in January and February of 2025, totaling just over $14 million in permit value.
This represents a year-over-year increase of 161% in total permit value for new commercial and multi-family construction!
Noteworthy New Commercial & Multifamily Projects
- A new 70k+ SF warehouse for The Great Plains Food Bank at 3315 Westrac Drive, Fargo | $20.96M
- A new 90k+ SF warehouse for Long Creek Steel at 2989 3rd Ave NW, West Fargo | $6M (more coming)
- A new 11k SF truck stop/travel center from Northdale Oil at 4000 County Road 81 | $5.6M
Commercial Remodel Permits – January & February, 2026
For the first two months of 2026, the FM metro recorded approximately $17 million in commercial remodel permits. This compares to $22.7 million in remodel permits during January and February of 2025.
This reflects a decrease of 24.5% year-over-year in commercial remodel permit values.

- $4.3M fit-up for Korber Pharma at 1279 55th St N, Fargo
- $1.3M remodel at the Candlewood Suites in Fargo at 1831 NDSU Research Circle North
- $1.08M remodel of The COVE office park at 200 45th St N, Fargo
- $850k fit-up for Bushel at The Black Building, 118 Broadway N, Fargo
