New Commercial & Multifamily Permits – March, 2026
The FM metro recorded 10 new commercial and multifamily building permits in March, representing approximately $21 million in new commercial real estate investment across Fargo, Moorhead, and West Fargo.
This compares to 11 new commercial and multifamily permits in March of 2025, totaling just over $15.6 million in permit value.
Year-to-date in 2026, the FM Metro has recorded $58.28 million in new commercial and multifamily permits, which is up 95% from the $29.84 million in permits YTD in 2025.
Noteworthy New Commercial & Multifamily Projects in March 2026
- A new 42-unit Mixed-Use apartment building at 4477 26th Ave S, Fargo | $6.8M
- A new 9k SF Kwik Star convenience center at 4177 Crossroads Drive S, Fargo | $5.9M total permits
- A new 8.5k shop/warehouse at 1921 11th St N, Moorhead | $2.2M total permits
Commercial Remodel Permits – March, 2026
The FM metro recorded approximately $19.2 million in commercial remodel permits. This compares to $11.45 million in remodel permits during January and February of 2025.
Year-to-date in 2026, the FM Metro has recorded $36.4 million in commercial remodel permits, which is down just 1.4% from the $36.9 million in permits YTD in 2025.
Notable Commercial Remodel Projects
- $4.0M remodel at the Stamart Travel Center at 3500 12th Ave N, Fargo
- $3.35M upgrade of the refrigeration and HVAC systems at Cornerstone Bank Arena, 4404 23rd Ave S, Fargo
- $2.7M addition to Luther Collision and Glass at 3215 33rd St S, Fargo
- $1.6M fit-up for the City of Fargo’s new Resource & Recovery Center at 2001 1st Ave N, Fargo
